Constitution of the SAHS Chess Club

Article I: Name
The name of this club shall be the “SAHS Chess Club”.

Article II: Purpose
The purpose of the School Chess Club is to promote the game of chess and provide students with opportunities to learn and play the game, to develop critical thinking skills, and to foster teamwork and sportsmanship.

Article III: Membership
Membership in the School Chess Club shall be open to all students of the school who are interested in learning and playing chess.

Article IV: Officers
The officers of the School Chess Club shall be the Super admin, Admin, and Coordinator . The officers shall be elected by the members at the end of the school year and shall serve for one academic year.

Article V: Duties of Officers

Super Admin: The Super admin shall preside over meetings of the club, serve as its representative to the school community, and perform other duties as required by the club.

Admin: The Admin shall assist the Super admin in carrying out his or her duties and shall serve as Super admin in the Super admin’s absence.

Coordinator: The Coordinator shall keep accurate records of club meetings, maintain a roster of members, and perform other duties as required by the club.

The Coordinator shall be responsible for collecting and disbursing club funds, maintaining financial records, and preparing an annual budget for the club.

Article VI: Meetings
The School Chess Club shall hold regular meetings, the dates and times of which shall be determined by the officers and approved by the members. A quorum shall consist of a majority of the members.

Article VII: Amendments
This constitution may be amended by a two-thirds vote of the members present at a regular meeting, provided that the proposed amendment has been submitted in writing and distributed to the members at least one week prior to the meeting.

Article VIII: Dissolution
The School Chess Club may be dissolved by a two-thirds vote of the members, provided that the proposed dissolution has been submitted in writing and distributed to the members at least one week prior to the vote.
